Have you guys seen that GoGurt commercial where the mom has the "smokey eye"? If you haven't please go check it out on youtube cause it's HILARIOUS! Well I'm here today to hopefully help you so that you don't end up like that.
Let's be honest, you really can't go wrong with a smokey eye. Though I understand it's not for everyone, you also have to follow certain steps in order to insure that you don't come out the house looking like a lady raccoon. And for this look I only used two colors, keeping it super simple!
This look is perfect for a girl's night out or a date with a special someone. Smokey eyes are a fun way to incorporate some fun into your whole look!
When it comes to a smokey eye it's extremely important to BLEND! I can't express that enough! So having a blending brush will be imperative to your smokey eye success! Two of my favorite blending brushes are both from MAC and they are #217 and #224 (so you can get an idea of what I'm talking about)
As you can see I did not bring the black any further above my crease. I generally apply the color to my lid (under the crease) and will use my blending brush to blend the color so that there's no harsh line. Blending your eye shadow will give you a clean look and it will make you look like you know what you're doing ;)
Here are the steps I took to create this super easy look:
- Apply your favorite eye primer
- Apply a light to medium brown to the crease. I used Soft Brown from MAC
- BLEND
- Apply the black to the lid, but do not go past the crease
- BLEND BLEND BLEND
- Add a lighter shimmery color to inner corner to brighten the eyes
- If desired apply some of the dark shadow under the bottom lash line
- Optional: Add some lashes for added drama
I love your eye makeup! Very pretty x
