I don't make it a secret that I have a love and hate relationship with my hair. Mostly because taking care of natural, unprocessed hair can be a lot of work. Over the years since being fully natural, I have taken on protective styles to keep myself from manipulating my hair too much or even just going back to that creamy crack...lol
However lately I have been trying to be more conscious of the "protective" styles that I choose. I want my hair to be healthy but I would also like to start experiencing more length retention. And in order to achieve this little goal of mine I know I need to not add any heat to my hair and to also make sure that it's moisturized.
To me personally there's no better way to use a protective style than to just "wig it out". And that's what I've been soing my friends! I have gotten SO many complements on this unit that I was actually a little shocked.
This is a Outre Batik Bundle Hair "L" Part Lace Front Wig in Peruvian. I have been wearing it with some of my hair out so that I can try and make it look a little more natural and it has been working great that way. The pattern for the curl is supposed to be Peruvian. So the curls are tight and the unit is full, which works great with natural hair textures.
Needles to say I'm absolutely loving this unit! I get tons of compliments and quite honestly it does look pretty natural on. I'll be ordering another one of these soon!
HOW HAVE YOU BEEN TAKING CARE OF YOUR LOCKS LATELY?
I have relaxed hair but I been scaling back how much style product I put in my hair...usually I use style product for when I get ready on Sunday morning for church :)

Ursula that's a great way to have low manipulation :)
DeleteYou look FAB! I love protective styling! I have managed to retain soooo much length by implementing protective styling into my routine. I usually go for 4 or 5 month stretches of protective styling in the fall and winter. This year I plan to play around with wigs also.
ReplyDeleteit has made a huge difference Apryl! Especially since I'm trying t get the front to catch up with the back lol
