Tips on How to Achieve Beautiful Lips to Wear Lipstick
Posted by

I stumbled upon this article on Glamour Magazine's web site on how to achieve that perfect lip when wearing lipstick. I am a prime example of a person that should not wear lipsticks...I tend to stick to lipglosses and etc. because my lips get so chapped (MN weather can be a bitch on the lips) But with these tips I can now rock my lipsticks again:
Rub on a layer of moisturizing balm and use an eyebrow brush to gently slough off dry skin.
Add concealer to the outer corners of your mouth before applying lipstick, “This is a spot where color tends to bleed,” she says.
Make ‘em kiss-proof by filling in lips with liner. Then apply lipstick, blot, and add another layer of color. For more staying power, cover with a thin layer of tissue and dust translucent powder on top.
Get perfect edges using a lip brush. Start at the outer corners on both top and bottom and work your way into the center using one fluid motion.
Erase mistakes by tracing along the outside of the lip line with a small, stiff brush dipped in foundation.
To fake a fuller pout, add a dot of silver or gold shadow above the middle of your lips and stick to glossier textures.
Don’t overload on color everywhere—if you’re wearing a vibrant shade all you need is mascara, she adds.

Deep Conditioning My Natural Hair

I have used this product on my permed hair and I am continuing to use it on my natural hair as a deep conditioner. I just love the way this product leaves my hair. My hair gets really soft and it also helps define my hair pattern!
When I do my deep conditionig I use an electric heating cap for one hour alond with the conditioner. The cap I have came from Brazil but a similar one can also be found on amazon. I like this heating cap because it allows me to move around intead of sitting under something without being able to do much. With the proper extention cord the possibilites are endless lol.
Here is the one on Amazon:
I like to do a deep conditioning at least once a week to give my hair a boost and make sure that it is getting the nutrients it needs. Bottom line I would recommend this product to anyone! I love it : )

My Hair Journey: From Permed to natural
Posted by
Unknown
My healthy hair journey began a couple of years ago. Due to me trying to lighten up my hair color I severely damaged my hair. I have always been fortunate to be able to keep my length but this time my hair was extremely dry and with no life at all. I figured if I got some micro braids my hair would come back to its normal estate when I took the braids out...but I was very wrong. With the braids in I didn't take the time to take care of my real hair and the damage became worse.
After removing the micros I decided to go on a healthy hair journey after coming across a hair care forum called Hairlista. I cut my hair very short and began from there. A year after the cut I had gotten my hair to be at its healthiest. It was shining with life! I was almost reaching shoulder length when I found out that I was pregnant and from then on I did not perm my hair for the safety of my baby.
Though my pregnancy I had to learn how to deal with my new growth, and as my new growth grew longer, I began to really like my natural hair texture. I also began to think about going completely natural. Not only because I wanted to see what my hair really looked like but I wanted my daughter to have someone in her life with natural hair since I don't plan on ever perming her's I think it would be unfair to walk around with my hair permed. Not only that but I want her to see her beauty for what it is and not for what other want it to be
(if that makes any sense)!
I have had some type of chemical on my hair for as long as I can remember, and growing up natural kinky hair was NOT accepted at all. Every girl I knew had their hair permed unless they had non-kinky curly hair, otherwise there would be constant let downs and being made fun of for having "nappy" hair.
Anyways...I was due for a perm when I found out about my pregnancy, so with that time plus the nine months I had transitioned for a whole year. At which time I finally did the big chop...I got tired of the stringy ends I had left over from my permed days and decided it was time to let go.
My natural hair was so much fuller and so thick!!!!!! I loved it : )
I am now figuring out how to deal with all of this thickness (IT'S A VERY THICK!!!) So far I have pretty much worn my hair in big puffs. I have been doing some research on natural hair styles and I look forward to trying them and sharing them with you soon in the future.
Here is a video of my journey with pictures included : )

Natural Hair Update

So things have been going ok. I don't do anything special to my hair, mostly I do wash and go's. I do however have a lot of shrinkage so in order to stretch my hair I do corn rows or damp or dry hair and take them out the next day or two (the longer the better)! As of right now I have straightened my hair....I was just having doubts as to how to manage such thickness and nappiness *_* so I figured I would straighten my hair for easier managing and so far so good...I do however want to share some pictures I have taken of my stretched hair (not straightened) I hope you enjoy it ^_^

Love,
Giselle
