Red Lipstick & Champagne Dreams: SULTRY BLUE SMOKEY EYES

SULTRY BLUE SMOKEY EYES

I absolutely adore a good smokey eye. It's classic and in my opinion a timeless look. Everyone can wear it when catered to their eye shape and needs. And for today's eyes I went with something a little more dramatic, which would be perfect for a special occasion or a girl's night out. Actually it would be perfect for one of those days that you just feel like looking fabulous. I mean, why not?!

I know that a smokey eye can be super scary, but once you get the hang of it, you will love it too! Honestly the key to the perfect smokey eye is to BLEND! I know you've heard this before but blending is key for any eye look. I personally love the #224 and #217 brushes from MAC. These will allow you to achieve any look while depositing color and blending.

If you are scared of looking crazy because you are just starting out with makeup or you are not used to doing much with your eyes, you can choose more subtle colors. Smokey eyes does not mean you have to use dark shades. Here I'm using the Bleuluxe Veluxe Pearlfusion palette from Mac and what I really like about this palette is that I can create something more dramatic like this or I can do something less dramatic if I chose to do so. The shadows go on really smooth making it easier for application and giving an amazing color pay off without much effort.

Since my eyes are the focus today, I decided to go with a more natural looking lipstick and I chose Whirl. I didn't want to do a very nude lipstick and whirl is neutral enough that it can work with a lot of colors while still having having color to it.

  4. Gorgeous look! Your eyebrows look great too. Whenever I do a smokey eye my lower lid looks so heavy. I think I need to try a different brush.

    1. Candia try a very small brush. Just to give an idea I love to use Mac's #212 brush under my lower lashes, because the brush is flat it allows me to reach the area with more ease and it doesn't make a mess by applying too much product
